91 yards of offense...

That's all the mighty Michigan offense was able to muster against the Buckeyes today...I just watched the final seconds alone in my family room, and I think I've watched Lloyd Carr's final game. As much as I've enjoyed watching Tressel best the man in the past 6 meetings, I have to say, I'm going to miss the guy.

I realized watching the game and hearing how Lloyd Carr's legacy at Michigan isn't going to be his winning record, his number of national championships, Big Ten championships, Rose Bowl wins, etc. but his record against OSU in the last 6 years of his career. It's a funny thing working at OSU or Michigan in football...we booted John Cooper b/c he couldn't beat Michigan - that and he was class-less, but that's another blog.

But Lloyd Carr wasn't class-less. He's a good guy who conducts himself very well on and off the field. He's the kind of guy a Buckeye mom like me would let her son play at Michigan for. In fact, I feel sorry for Lloyd Carr and the position in which he finds himself...he's got to retire, or they'll have his head. A good nemesis is one you absolutely abhor...a person with no scruples, no morals, evil to the core...that's what you want and Lloyd Carr sin't any of that...he's a good guy who has done a lot for Michigan football.

But, in the end, he couldn't finish the season and beat the coaching genius that is Jim Tressel. Yes, I know, last year...but that's another blog.

So...it's with a bit of a sad heart that I finish this post. I'm thrilled and relieved that the Buckeyes were able to hold strong and win against the Wolverines. But if this is the end of Lloyd Carr's coaching career...it's a bit of a sour victory.

Good luck Lloyd...thanks for the solid contests...

Had his successes and failures been reversed - starting 1-7 against OSU but coming back to end 6-1 against them - he would've been the hero who had figured things out.

Instead, as Janet Jackson asked us, it's what have you done for me lately...ooh...ooh...ooh...yeah?

absolutely correct...that's pretty much how people operate in our world though...it's never, look back at what they've done so much as what have they done lately...

...unless you're in Happy Valley...
