I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. Demille

I'm not saying you have to watch the entire thing, but if you're a PHS grad or a PHS student, you'll be entertained...and informed. But if you go about 5:58 in, you'll get to see my segment of the promotional video for my district's bond issue.

My thoughts after watching:

1. I really like my haircut right now.
2. I thought my sister was the one with chicken lips
3. What the hell am I talking about? Seriously, my bit is the worst run-on sentence I've ever heard. I'm not even sure what point I'm trying to make.
4. I don't even remember saying those things

I dig that I'm the freeze frame that you see first.

Seriously, the middle school gets blackouts three or four times a year?

Monroe, Bates, and Spicher do a marvelous job leading the piece off.

At three minutes in, the sped-up student movement is funny.

I apparently am constantly congested.

Wow, really interesting effect when I'm on and they fuzz out the background. If you look at my right shoulder, you can see that just a little part of the periodic table wasn't fuzzed out quite enough. Interesting psychology of getting the subject in much stronger focus while making the background disappear and/or look worse.

I kicked your butt on camera time.

I remember when this was being recorded that we were told that the video wasn't designed as promotion for the bond issue, just as an informational video about the bond issue. That's hilarious to believe after watching the video. It's clearly - and I think effectively - one sided.

At 8:45, the Mayor of Springdale comes on and is sitting in what looks like the saddest library ever...not a single book on the shelves.

Thanks so much for posting this. I've been dying to see it, and finding it on YouTube is marvelous.

I'm going to email Robyn to see if I can post a link to/embed this on the front page of the high school site.

I like Sandy, but she really sounds stilted in reading her lines.

The multimedia company did a really nice job putting the video together. I think we got our money's worth from him/them.

Best line ever: "It's getting to the point where we're trying to put lipstick on a pig."

By the way I blame you for my neck being stiff. I must have turned my head so fast to watch you run at 100 mph out of the classroom that I pulled every single muscle on the right side of my neck. Thanks, Jumper.

chemguy - I also dig the fact that you're the freeze frame seen first. I didn't want to call you out on my blog, though, so thanks for taking care of that.

Grace - I'm super sorry I hurt your neck yesterday. Next time I decide to bolt out of the classroom to attend to an emergency, I'll warn you as I become a blur of speed...jumper...you're hilarious.

Don't know if you've noticed, but three of the four comments on the video's YouTube page aren't really positive about the bond issue.
