A re-occurring theme on this blog will be "I LOVE my kids at Princeton." The 4th Annual Rock 4A Cause last night stands as yet another example as to why. This little event helped us to bring in a bunch of cash for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - true - but the amount of work and generosity of the students and community involved leaves me at a loss for words...
Grace, Joey, Greg, Ellen, Matt M, Becky, Nick, Matt D, Ben, Don, Justin, Caroline, Kate, Curtis, Puja...you guys amaze me. "What can I do?" "How can I help?" "Do you need me to...?" Again and again throughout the night, you guys stepped up and took care of details and made me and chemguy look like we know how to put on a concert. I know I'm forgetting kids who helped sell raffle tickets, helped with set up and take down, and I know I'm forgetting kids who helped with PEG.
Let's not forget the bands who entertained us, who practiced night after night - working to make the show an incredible display of talent. David, Nate, Greg, and Andrew of Abusement Park (my favorite logo), James, Jon, Chip and Austin of Suburband, and Matt, Kyle, Zach and Brad of The Edge...thanks for the time and effort you put into the show...you did an amazing job.
Working at Princeton exhausts me...I push myself to the limit in the classroom and with the Pasta for Pennies campaign and sometimes wonder why I do this to myself. Then, I'm part of an event like last night, I don't feel like I'm working hard enough for these amazing kids...seriously amazing people.
Thanks guys, I've been humbled by you all once again.
