Done

You're looking at Brownie stonehenge. It's the latest in a line of noneducational projects to which my son has been subjected in the last week of school and I've about had it with the busywork he's been assigned. I officially hate elementary school teachers. This week's endeavor is getting ready for the display of work done by the many, many gifted young people in my son's school district. There, I will get to see other wonders of the world in look alike fashion much like Brownie Stonehenge. The oldest knows nothing about Stonehenge. He was not required to do any research, he didn't need to find anything out about it, he just needed to recreate it out of something that the actual stonehenge is not made out of. (I think we were pretty safe with the brownies) He wanted grass and thought fondant would work well for that - he hangs out with his mother enough that he's also an Ace of Cakes fan. I agree that fondant would have worked well, but decided to teach him the age old art of dying coconut green to make grass. He enjoyed dying the coconut as well as constructing brownie stonehenge.

I would enjoy it if one of these projects actually taught him something. I'm gonna be glad when elementary school and the inane projects are over...

It's gonna be so awesome when Heckman child #2 gets to do all these projects over again....

Just save those brownies for a couple years

There will be a slight difference though...the little one tends to think of her own ideas for the project first. And she's self motivated and never waits till the day before to finish a project...she pushes for help when she needs it.
