Damn...That was Tasty

I had a nasty cold last week...even left work halfway through the day because I felt so craptacular. So, it makes sense that last week's grocery list consisted of a menu of comfort foods. Here's the menu for the week - everything is already prepped btw. (Internal Assessments are due back to the students by the end of the week, so instead of grading all weekend, I cooked.)

Monday - Homemade chicken noodle soup
Tuesday - Buffalo chicken sloppy joes
Wednesday - Beef Stew
Thursday - Chili
Friday - Home football game - crap from the concession stand for the family - I'm on my own that night...probably Sushi from Jungle Jim's, or maybe dinner with a friend.

The Buffalo Chicken Sloppy Joes were a very nice surprise. I watched Rachel Ray the other Saturday and I usually don't make too many of her recipes, but this one caught my eye. It was very tasty, and way easy and we're all still really full and dinner was two hourse ago.

Here's the recipe because it's worth sharing. Enjoy and good luck navigating Food Network's website...there's a lot of content on that site and it is sometimes difficult to navigate.

In other news...there's no way this can be good for you, even if you do have a cold.

The mac and cheese looks awesome.

I'll be trying it this weekend. Thanks...

I made homemade mac and cheese with bacon last week and it turned out AMAZINGLY! It brought me one step closer to arteries from hell, but it tasted great! I got the recipe from some woman's magazine or something... The cheeses included cream cheese, sharp cheddar, monterey jack, Velveeta and a sprinkling of parmasan mixed with bread crumbs for the top. The extra thick slices of bacon were the BEST.
